Makes 3 servings (double meat for more, do not double sauce!)

Ingredients

  • 750g beef chuck roast or beef short ribs
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or stock
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 Tbs soy sauce
  • 1/8 tsp crushed chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • To serve, rice or potatoes, side of roast veges (or whatever)

Method

  1. Mix the marinade together and put into the slow cooker, adding the meat on top.
  2. Drizzle some marinade over the top of the meat.
  3. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  4. If the sauce is not thick and syrupy, put it into a small pot and heat on high until the sauce reduces.
  5. Prior to serving, shred the meat and mix some sauce into it.
