Fast – 10 minutes, slow – 15 minutes

Casserole pot, jar, strainer for later

Storage
Store in a jar, ginger in, and leave in the fridge for up to 3 months

Use for
Sweetener for tea, smoothies or pancakes (for the adventurous)

Ingredients

  • 100g chopped fresh ginger root
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1.5 cups water

Method

  1. Add water and sugar to a heavy pot and heat gently until the sugar dissolves
  2. Add ginger, simmer for 10 minutes
